Pregnancy & birth are normal, natural processes of life & these processes should be trusted. Pregnancy is not an illness, and should not be treated that way.
Your due date is an estimated date, not an expiration date.
Partners are just as emotionally invested in pregnancy & labor. They need support to minimize anxiety & feel involved & connected to the birth process.
How women feel in labor (safe, private, unobserved & supported) greatly effect birth outcomes.
In gravity. While in labor, a woman should move around as much as she wants to.
A woman should work with labor, not against it.
In evidence based care.
Sometimes birth happens quickly & sometimes it happens slowly. When left alone, it usually works.
Any feelings of fear, stress or pressure of any kind that are put on a woman can delay, or in some cases stop, a woman’s labor (as it does with all female animals).
Birth should be an empowering & trans-formative experience.
Unnecessary medical interventions can have a snowball effect on the birth process.
All mothers & fathers have the right to be active participants in the birth process. This means making informed decisions about where & how she gives birth, including whatever interventions (or lack there of) are used.
Every birth is different & unique. I will support whatever kind of birth YOU choose.
